PLANS for the €33million project to develop Dalymount Park have received a boost with the awarding of €918,750 in state funding for the early stages of the scheme.

Dublin City Council, who own the Dublin 7 site and plan to redevelop the stadium as a home for Bohemians and Shelbourne, received the money today from the Large Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund.

The funding will allow the project team to put the development out to tender and plan for the beginning of the building process.

Bohemians plan to leave Dalymount Park, their home since 1901, for the building work to start and ground-share with Shels at Tolka Park until the new-look, 6,000-capacity Dalymount is ready.
